Embodied Unity – Flying Low, Passing Through, Contact Improvisation, Qigong & Yoga

Vangelis is an international Dance Artist, Choreographer, Producer and Therapist. He has been leading educational, cultural, arts and healing projects across the world for over 17 years. He studied BA (Hons) Dance Theatre and MA Choreography at Trinity Laban (London, UK) and thereafter furthered his studies by acquiring a Masters in Buddhist Studies from the Hong Kong University. 

He is a yoga and qigong accredited practitioner and a therapist of different modalities (Craniosacral, Thai and Tsi Nei Tsang Massage, Deep Tissue and Holistic Massage, Neuroskeletal Re-Alignment Therapy, Reiki I, II and Master’s Level, Reflexology, and Cosmic Healing Qigong). 

Legakis, having two distinctive paths in his life, the one of dance and choreography, and the other of healing and spirituality, has formed the philosophy Embodied Unity and the practices Contact Beyond Contact and Gliding Space. Embodied Unity is an integration of diverse Dance Languages, Yoga and QiGong, Meditation and Mindfulness. This integration is intended to enhance dance education, performance, dance technique and the choreographic process, and as a whole, improve the living standards and relationships we build in our lives.

Vangelis is the founder and artistic director of Unity Space and The Van – L Dance Company, under which he spreads interdisciplinary art and healing festivals, projects and workshops.

Contemporary Dance & Performance

As performer Tina has worked and collaborated with companies and directors including Roberto Olivan Dance Company, Milan Tomášik & Co, Thomas Ryckewaert, Juliane Von Crailsheim, Vera Monteiro. As independent choreographer Tina has created numerous works, her solo ‘Shalakho’ and duet ‘Blue Gloom’ with Maya Oliva won the first prize of Jarmila Jeřábková Award 2017. The latest 2018 production ‘KolaboRace’ is a physical theater/circus performance featuring six circus artists and two musicians. Tina has been a movement artist for music video ‘ANIMA’ directed by Paul Thomas Anderson for Thom Yorke, choreographed by Damien Jalet, also several short dance movies including ‘Singular Place’ in collaboration with Julyen Hamilton, ‘Nocebo’ directed by Angelika Novokrepovskaia and ‘Hey Darling’ in collaboration with Tomislav English featuring collective FarFor Yo. She has also assisted the movement department of Warner Bros. Pictures for the feature film ‘CATS’ (2019).

Tina Afiyan Breiova is a member of Ferus Animi//Terra Nova research collective. Tina’s teaching practice is influenced by training under Hannes Langolf, David Zambrano, Lloyd Newson, Linda Kapetanea and Jozef Frucek (Fighting Monkey Practice), Coral Ortega (Qi Gong), Chrysa Parkinson, Salva Sanchis, Julyen Hamilton and her time as a student at P.A.R.T.S. university in Brussels and Duncan Centre Conservatory in Prague. As a martial artist, Tina trains out of Budokon MMA Academy, Miami.

Ferus Animi // Terra Nova was developed by Tomislav English and is a movement research practice based around the application of modern research in neuroscience, cognitive sciences and evolutionary physiology into training methodologies.
